Junior Golf Clubs for Kids Ages 9-12 (Heights 48 to 58 inches tall)
FAQs for Junior Golfers Ages 9-12
How Do I Select the Correct Size Junior Golf Clubs?
Our junior golf clubs for kids ages 9-12 are generally for children between 48 and 58 inches tall. It is important to select junior golf clubs based on height and not age. Age should be used just as a guideline.
At All Kids Golf Clubs, we make shopping for the correct junior golf clubs easier than anywhere else. No need to scroll endlessly through pages of products trying to find correctly sized clubs for your child. We've done the hard work. See the steps below:
- Measure the height of your child with his shoes on. That is the height in inches that you need to remember.
- Go to the left menu on the All Kids Golf Clubs collection page you want to browse on.
- Select the height range in the filter that matches your child's current height that you just measured.
- Every club and set that will appear in the filter is in the proper height range for your child. However, please note that every manufacturer has a different height range recommendation. Each junior golf set that you'll find at AllKidsGolfClubs has the recommended height range listed in the page title and product page for your ease of shopping.
- Select a club or set where your child's current height is in the lower portion of the listed range. If you want to see our full selection of junior golf clubs, feel free to explore our Kids Golf Clubs.
Recommended Golf Club Lengths for Junior Golfers Ages 9 to 12
Based on years of knowledge, we've built this handy chart that is perfect for grandparents and parents to help select the proper length of club for their child. Note that in many instances you might think your child needs a longer club than what we recommend. Keep in mind that kids typically will use a shorter club than an adult of similar height because shorter clubs are easier to swing, give more consistent results. We do not recommend buying clubs that your child will "grow into" as they will be too big, your child will get frustrated and he will see limited results making him not want to play the game.

How Many Clubs Should Be in My Pre-Teen's Golf Bag?
As children get stronger and more skilled, it is time to add clubs to your child's golf bag. The youngest golfers (ages 2-5) only need one or two clubs. This is because they can't hit the ball very far, so more clubs only add more confusion. For golfers who are 9, 10, 11, or 12 years old, they have built the strength up to hit each club at a diffent length making it more product to carry more clubs in their bag. With that being said, we recommend anywhere from 5 clubs to 7 clubs in your childs bag in the 9-12 age group. This usually looks like a driver, hybrid, iron, wedge, and putter. Adding a fairway wood would be the next club to add after these basic five clubs we previously mentioned.
AllKidsGolfClubs.com recommends the following clubs to add to the bag in order of importance: putter, 7 iron, hybrid, pitching wedge, driver, fairway wood, sand wedge, long iron or second fairway wood. Here are our customer favorites for the ages 9-12
- Orlimar ATS 5 Club Junior Golf Set Ages 9-12 (Beginner/Budget): This is our top choice for beginner golfers or those looking for a starter set. The 5 clubs in the set are exactly what a beginner golfer should be carrying; a driver, hybrid, 7 iron, wedge and putter. As your child improves his game, just add to the set.
- Tour Edge HL-J Junior Golf Set Ages 9-12: (Game Improvement/Intermediate) This Tour Edge set includes 7 clubs, adding a fairway wood and sand wedge to a typcial starter set. We also love the mallet style putter in this bag. A fabulous set for the price and one of our top sellers. Available in right and left hand.
- Cleveland CGJ 7 Club Set for Ages 10-12: (Game Improvement/Advanced Intermediate) This is one of our best sellers and stands in a class by itself. What we love most is that it includes all graphite shafts and an 18 degree lofted driver, making it must easier to hit than many of its competitive counterparts.
- Mizuno JM01 140 7 Club Set for Ages 10-12: (Competitve): This Mizuno set was launched in 2025 and features graphite shafts on all the clubs (including the putter). Only one wedge included in this set, so we'd recommend adding a sand wedge to this set. The clubs are about an inch longer than the Cleveland 10-12 set.
We are experts in kids golf and we recommend reading our guides for selecting the best single club for your young golfer to educate yourself on which clubs are best for beginners, intermediate and competitive golfers of all ages. Here at All Kids Golf Clubs, we offer a single junior driver and junior putter for those golfers that are either looking to buy a single club or want to add another club to their current golf set. If you child is in love with golf and spends hours at the course, we suggest purchasing a pair of golf shoes, as it'll keep his feet and body feeling great all day. Shop our Kids Golf Shoes.
