Callaway Strata Golf Sets
For some golfers all they need is a solid set of clubs, some warm weather, and enjoying golf with their friends. If this is what you aspire to have on the course, there isn’t a need to get custom fitted for clubs, which you end up taking out a mortgage to pay for. That is the reality for a lot of golfers, whether you head to the pro shop or a mega store, they immediately want you to get a new set of irons, a driver, and after a few minutes, your bill is thousands of dollars. Is there a solution for golfers who don’t want this?
There is and it is called the Callaway Strata Golf Set. Known as The Essential All-In-One Starter Set. Any golfer who wants a high quality set, affordable, and incredible technology, the Callaway Strata will deliver, for both men and women.
You may think this sounds too good to be true but it also gets better, as the Callaway Strata Sets come in various club options:
- Callaway Strata Womens Set: For the lady Strata options you can get a 7 club set or an 11 club set. The 7 club set comes with a pink bag and the 11 club set comes with a purple bag.
- Callaway Strata Mens Set: For the mens Strata options you can get a 9 club, 10 club, and 11 club set. The bag options range from blue to red.
Callaway Strata Men’s Golf Set Comparison
Callaway Golf is now offering 3 different sets for men in 9 club, 10 club and 11 club options. Callaway has a reputation for offering sets tailored to golfers at different skill levels, and these new sets for men are no exception. While all three packages are designed by Callaway for high-handicap and entry-level golfers, they feature distinct differences in club composition, iron head technology, shafts and lofts.
Club Makeup: Additional hybrids, and wedges are added as you step up from the 9-club (12-piece) to the 10-club (Plus 14-piece) and 11-club (Ultimate 16-piece) sets.
Standard Strata 9 Club Set: Features a straightforward stainless steel cavity-back iron. The weighting is centered to give beginners basic forgiveness on off-center hits. Included Putter is Blade / Semi-Mallet style.
Strata Plus 10 Club Set: Incorporates progressive sole width technology and perimeter weighting. The soles on long irons (6i–7i) are wider to sweep smoothly through turf, while short irons feature narrower soles for precision. The top line and cavity profile look noticeably thicker than the standard set. Included Putter is T-Style / Alignment type.
Strata Ultimate 11 Club Set: Features a deep cavity back with High Flight technology. These irons have the widest soles and the lowest center of gravity (CG) of all three sets, designed to maximize perimeter forgiveness and help players get the ball airborne effortlessly. Included Putter is Milled-Face Alignment style.
Callaway Women’s Strata Sets - Pink, Blue and Purple Set Comparison
Callaway Golf is now offering 3 different sets for ladies 63” to 68” tall. Callaway has a reputation for offering sets tailored to golfers at different skill levels, and these new sets are no exception. The purpose of this article is to specify the set makeups, compare the differences, and recommend the proper set so parents can choose the set that best suits their junior golfer’s skill level and goals.
Callaway Strata Pink 7 Club Set: This Strata Pink 7 club set contains the fewest golf clubs of the three sets. Included are the Driver, 5 Wood, 5 Hybrid, 7 Iron, 9 Iron and Putter. This is today’s very popular set makeup for beginner golfers. The number of golf clubs is more manageable, the increased lofts make it easier tot get the ball in the air, and the inclusion of a versatile Hybrid club works well from the fairway or rough without changing clubs.
Callaway Strata Plus Blue 10 Club Set: A step up from the Strata 7 Club Pink set, this Strata 10 Club Plus Blue set adds 3 more clubs: 6 Iron, 8 Iron and Pitching Wedge. This set should be considered when the lady junior golfer is progressing from novice golfer and is mature enough to handle more clubs. Fewer clubs for beginner golfers reduce frustration and confusion on the course – very important for those just learning the game!
Callaway Strata Ultimate Purple 11 Club Set: At the top of the junior sets for ladies is the Strata Ultimate Purple 11 Club set. This set adds a 3 Wood, removes the 5 Wood and adds a 4 Wood to the Strata Blue 10 Club set. Adding a 3 Wood and replacing the 5 Wood with a 4 Wood adds two cubs with less loft, therefore more distance. His set should be considered when the lady golfer is consistent with their 5 Wood and 5 Hybrid clubs.
The History of The Callaway Strata Set
Back in 2010 Callaway had designed the Callaway Strata for the golfers who wanted to get involved with the best game in the world, while not having to save every pay check they earn, just to purchase a golf club. If you have ventured to a golf store in the last few months, you will quickly see how this mission by Callaway in 2010 has been more important now, than ever, with prices going through the rough.
The Callaway Strata continues to be not only one of the best complete sets on the market, but a price friendly option for all golfers. This goes back to 2003 when Callaway purchased the Spalding golf brand, as the Strata was originally a term/product that Spalding used. Technically, the Callaway Strata came out in the early 2000’s by Spalding but by 2010 Callaway had invested technology, resources, and brought to market the Callaway Strata we know today.
The last refresh for the line was in 2019 by introducing the Callaway Strata, Strata Plus, and Strata Ultimate options. Don’t worry, Callaway continues to redesign and improve the Callaway Strata Set we all love today, making it untouchable in the box set category.
